Safety guardrails
ActiveEvery message is checked for safety signals before an educational response is generated. High-risk messages receive crisis resources immediately — before any educational content.
Safety checks active on every message.
What triggers a safety-first response
- Immediate risk of harm to the child or others
- Self-harm or suicidal ideation (parent or child)
- Abuse, neglect, or domestic violence
- Medical emergencies requiring immediate care
- Requests for diagnosis, prescription, dosage, or crisis counseling
What happens when safety is triggered
When a safety signal is detected, CareWise drops the educational flow, switches to a safety-first template, and provides crisis resources. It does not continue with a long informational answer before addressing the immediate concern.
Limitations
CareWise is not a crisis line. Safety checks are a filter to route to real resources, not a replacement for professional crisis support. If you or your child are in immediate danger, call emergency services.
